*Mr.Nizam Uldin Zaland* is a dedicated civil engineer and research professional committed to advancing technical knowledge, innovation, and professional development within Afghanistan’s civil engineering community. A graduate of Nangarhar University, he brings expertise in structural engineering, project management, construction management, and applied research, combining technical proficiency with leadership and strategic vision.

As Head of the Research Department at AfSCE, Mr. Zaland leads initiatives to strengthen research culture, support evidence-based engineering studies, and foster sustainable infrastructure development. He is also an Admin and Finance Manager with SOURCES Organization, contributing to organizational operations, financial management, and strategic planning.

A graduate of the Aspire Leaders Program, Mr. Zaland demonstrates a strong commitment to leadership, professional growth, and capacity building. He also volunteered with UNHCR for four months under a Community Engagement project, supporting community coordination, awareness initiatives, and stakeholder communication.
